First World Problems

Lack of sleep is the direct result of having children! I don't think I have slept since December, when my husband and I welcomed our son into our little family. For me, lack of sleep is the tree trunk and the branches connected to it are anger, impatience, emotional instability (lol) and a few other terrible things. You know what though? No matter how my day goes, whenever I look at my family I cant help but smile and feel so very blessed.

If I take a step back and look at my life, most of my concerns are first world concerns. What is a first world concern? First world concerns are issues in first world nations that are complained about only because of the absence of more pressing concerns. Wow! how spoiled are we? Sure I'm tired and cranky but I have a roof over my head for goodness sake! I have healthy children, an amazing husband and so many more things I can think of! I am so thankful to everything the Lord has provided. All of the sleepless moments with my daughter and son I wouldn't trade for the world. I love my small cozy home and my growing family. I may be tied, but I have a place to lay my head down at the end of the day. I have it good, really.

I am not diminishing tough times, in fact my family is in the middle of a new season with changes we aren't exactly prepared for, but I can truly say I have all of my confidence in Jesus. If i did not have God in my life I don't know how I would handle everything. No matter how tough things are, I try to remember all of my blessings and thank the Lord for it. Being thankful is something we should practice everyday, not just during Thanksgiving. What are some of the things that you are very thankful for?
