Delicious and Nutritious Smoothies

Smoothies are a great way to start your day, drink after a workout or replace with a snack. It's hard to consume the daily recommended amount of vegetables and fruit. We are suppose to consume 3-5 servings of vegetables and 2-4 servings of fruit.  serving is representative of a cup. The smoothie recipes below will help you reach that goal. They are all delicious too, which will help you allow your kids to reach the goal as well. The good news is, you can buy the fruit frozen. It is more cost efficient and the nutrients are preserved well. I use to try to buy all fresh fruit, it would spoil quickly and cost more. I still use fresh fruit, but a large bag of frozen fruit (Costco or Sams Club) for the fruits I use most often in a smoothie. In my experience, frozen vegetables do not taste good in a smoothie.
